Konstantinos Papamatthaiakis schloss die Tanzschule der Griechischen Nationaloper Athen mit Auszeichnung ab. Bereits als Student war er für Richard Alston, die Hellenische Dance Company, das Aenaon Tanztheater (Daniel Lommel) und die Griechische Nationaloper tätig. Als Stipendiat nahm er an den renommierten Sommerakademien von Jacob´s Pillow und der Joffrey Ballettschule in New York teil. 2011 vertiefte er seine Ausbildung in Großbritannien, begann ein Aufbaustudium Tanz an der London Contemporary Dance School mit Schwerpunkt auf dem Repertoire von Merce Cunningham, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Richard Alston und einer neuen Arbeit von Sasha Roubicek. Seit 2012 war er Mitglied der Candoco Dance Company und tourte international mit Choreografien von Trisha Brown, Rachid Ouramdane, Javier De Frutos, Emanuel Gat und Thomas Hauert. Danach tanzte er für das Zfinmalta Tanzensemble mit Choreografien von Francesca Tranter, Mavin Khoo und Jose Agudo. 2019 arbeitete Kostas erstmals am Theater Reutlingen Die Tonne als Tänzer in der Eigenproduktion „Urban Wolves“ unter der Leitung des israelischen Choreografen Yaron Shamir.

Kostas graduated with high honours from the Greek National Opera Dance School in Athens. Whilst still a student he performed for Richard Alston, Hellenic Dance Company, Aenaon Dance Theatre (Daniel Lommel) and the Greek National Opera. Through scholarships Kostas attended the prestigious summer schools of Jacob’s Pillow and Joffrey Ballet School in New York. In 2011 he furthered his studies in UK, completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Dance Studies at LCDS where he was taught repertoire of Merce Cunningham, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Richard Alston and a new creation by Sasha Roubicek. In 2012 he joined Candoco Dance Company touring internationally works of Trisha Brown, Rachid Ouramdane, Javier De Frutos, Emanuel Gat and Thomas Hauert. Later he joined Zfinmalta Dance Ensemble with works by Francesca Tranter, Mavin Khoo and Jose Agudo. Recently Kostas was performing for the production of ‘Urban Wolves’ in Germany by the Israeli choreographer Yaron Shamir.
